The Paramount Chief of Ntrubo North Traditional Area, Nana Obirikitibi Amnadu Okordie, has issued a decree prohibiting school children from being outside after 9 p.m. to foster a safe learning environment and protect their welfare. This move aims to safeguard children from potential dangers and ensure they have enough rest and time for studies.
The chief made this known during the 2025 Kedeesa Festival, which showcased the area’s rich cultural heritage through the Obirikitibi cultural group’s dance, local artists, and a football gala. Nana Obirikitibi emphasized that it’s a shared responsibility among parents and guardians to enforce the decree and give children the best opportunities for success.
The initiative has received widespread support from parents, teachers, and community leaders. Additionally, the Paramount Chief called for peace in the area, urging conflict sponsors to focus on development instead of fighting, and highlighting the importance of dialogue for lasting solutions.
At the festival, Nkwanta South Member of Parliament, Geoffrey Kini, warned youths against illicit drug use and shared plans to repair damaged roads connecting Ntrubo communities and improve other social infrastructure.
