The Government of Ghana has announced a 62.58% increase in the cocoa producer price for the 2025/2026 season, effective August 7, 2025.

According to Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson, the adjustment reflects a strong Cedi, lower inflation, and the government’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of cocoa farmers. Cocoa farmers will now earn US$5,040 per tonne.

As part of the package, farmers will receive free fertilizers, insecticides, and other inputs, while COCOBOD will implement a Cocoa Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for children of cocoa farmers starting next academic year.
