A devastating fire that erupted at a cluster of makeshift commercial and residential structures near SoccerBet in Tudu has resulted in the complete destruction of seven rooms.

According to a preliminary report by the Ghana National Fire Service, the blaze also claimed household items and GH¢1,200 in cash. However, 18 other rooms and their contents were successfully salvaged.

The fire, which broke out at 1:15 p.m., rapidly spread through the building, prompting firefighters to respond with alacrity. Although the first team arrived promptly, they encountered significant challenges due to the fire’s swift spread, limited water supply, and accessibility issues.

Given the severity of the blaze, three additional fire tenders were deployed to assist with containment. It took the firefighters several hours to fully extinguish the inferno.
