The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced the launch of SheRhythms Ghana, a pioneering all-female music festival scheduled to take place from December 3 to 5, 2025, at the Alliance Française in Accra.

According to MUSIGA President Bessa Simons, the festival aims to celebrate, elevate, and empower women in the music industry.

The event will feature live performances by female musicians, as well as seminars and workshops designed to equip women with essential skills in areas like artist management, audio engineering, stage lighting, band direction, and live production. This initiative builds on MUSIGA’s efforts to promote female participation in Ghana’s creative sector, including the establishment of a Gender Desk last year.

Application forms for interested performers will be released in the coming weeks, and a selection team will curate the final lineup for the festival. The maiden edition promises to be an exciting celebration of women’s contributions to music, both locally and internationally.
