The Member of Parliament for Anyaa-Sowutuom, Emmanuel Tobbin, has confirmed that the son of traditional leader Nuumo Ofori was among the victims killed during Saturday’s violent Homowo clashes between Anyaa-Sowutuom and Omanjor. According to the MP, the chief’s son was shot multiple times, reportedly around ten, after being sent to mediate a misunderstanding over the sprinkling of kpokpoi near a boundary at Mensah Addo.

The MP revealed that tensions remain high, with nearly 200 young men converging at Nuumo Ofori’s palace on Sunday, their mood strongly suggesting thoughts of retaliation. However, he appealed to the community to remain calm as police investigations continue, noting that efforts are underway to engage leaders from both sides to restore peace.

The police have identified the deceased as Abubakar Ramadan Sarbah, Theophilus Nii Amu Kwadjan, and Joseph Shaibu Dodoo, while four others sustained injuries. The incident has sparked concerns about the escalating violence and the need for peaceful resolution.
