The Adentan Circuit Court has remanded Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, into police custody for a period of two weeks. This decision comes after the court ordered a psychiatric evaluation to assess Ebo Noah’s mental state, which will aid in determining his fitness to stand trial. The evaluation will be conducted at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital.

The charges brought against Ebo Noah include false communication, deliberately misleading the public, and publishing false news, all of which are contrary to Ghana’s criminal laws. The prosecution’s case against him stems from his recent online publications, which have raised concerns about their potential impact on the public.

As part of the ongoing investigations, Ebo Noah’s remand in police custody is expected to facilitate further inquiries into the allegations leveled against him. The court has adjourned the case to a later date, when the psychiatric report from Pantang Psychiatric Hospital is expected to be submitted.

The outcome of the psychiatric evaluation will play a crucial role in determining the next steps in the proceedings. If found fit to stand trial, Ebo Noah will face the charges brought against him.
