Ghanaian media personality, Mr. Carter, has expressed doubts about Sarkodie’s ability to fill the iconic O2 Arena in London, questioning whether the rapper’s popularity is sufficient to draw a crowd large enough to fill the venue.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with host Kwame Dadzie, Mr. Carter seemed unconvinced by Sarkodie’s prospects, suggesting that several artists before him have struggled to fill the venue, with some even canceling shows due to low patronage despite months of promotion.
He cited instances where artists advertised their concerts for as long as 18 months, only to cancel due to lack of interest.
Mr. Carter believes that a trend among Ghanaians living abroad, who often fail to attend shows organized by Ghanaian artists, could be a contributing factor to the challenges musicians face in filling large venues, even with heavy promotion.
