Award winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has revealed that the worst stage performance of his career occurred in the United States after he unknowingly consumed a weed-infused biscuit.
Speaking about the incident, the award-winning artist said he was given a hamper containing biscuits ahead of the performance. Unaware that they were laced with cannabis, he shared some with his manager, Angel Town. According to Sarkodie, the effects kicked in shortly afterward. He noticed his manager laughing uncontrollably at ordinary conversations, and moments later, he began feeling unusual himself.
“When I got on stage, everything felt far away. Even my fast songs sounded slow to me. ‘U Go Kill Me’ didn’t feel fast at all. The moment I knew I was gone was when I asked Angel the distance between myself and the stage,” he recalled.
Despite struggling internally throughout the performance, Sarkodie said he pushed through and completed the show. Ironically, members of the audience later praised the performance, describing it as one of his best. However, the rapper insists it remains his personal worst.
