The Pokuase Dunyo Branch of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has taken a remarkable step by paying the fines of 11 inmates at the Nsawam Prisons, enabling their release. This act of kindness was part of the church’s activities to commemorate the Women’s Fellowship Week celebration.

According to Daniel Asare, a district elder, the church was moved by the plight of individuals who remain incarcerated due to unpaid fines. The fines varied, ranging from GHC 800 to GHC 4,500, and the church spent approximately GHC 40,000 to secure the release of the inmates.

The Women’s Fellowship Leader, Charlotte Dankwa, had an opportunity to interact with the inmates and was touched by their stories. The inmates expressed deep gratitude for the church’s intervention and promised to turn over a new leaf. The church leaders encouraged the freed inmates to stay away from any conduct that might lead them back to trouble and to live responsibly.

The beneficiaries praised the church for its kindness, stating that it was a timely intervention that had restored their hope. They acknowledged having learned valuable lessons and were committed to rebuilding their lives.
