A devastating collision between an aboboyaa and a timber truck has claimed the lives of six individuals, with two others fighting for their lives in the hospital. The incident occurred at Sehwi Asikuma in the Bia West District of the Western North Region.
The accident happened when the aboboyaa, carrying eight passengers, including market women, collided head-on with the timber-laden truck traveling in the opposite direction. The impact was severe, causing extensive damage to the tricycle and resulting in the instantaneous death of six occupants.
Two women, who sustained life-threatening injuries, were rushed to the Essam Cocoa Clinic for intensive medical care. The Ghana Police Service and emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and transport the injured to the hospital.
The aboboyaa rider fled the scene and remains at large, while the driver of the timber truck is cooperating with the police investigation. Authorities have launched a probe to determine the exact cause of the accident.
