Abronye Arrested for Offensive Conduct

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Abronye was taken into custody on Monday, September 8, 2025, for offensive conduct likely to breach public peace.

According to the police, Abronye is currently being held and will be brought before the court in the coming days.

Interestingly, Abronye had recently submitted formal requests for political asylum to several foreign embassies, including those of Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Canada.
