The Bono Regional Police Command has launched a major crackdown on armed robbery syndicates, making significant arrests in the process. The operation, which was intelligence-led, targeted gangs operating in Berekum, Drobo, Nkaseim, and surrounding communities. As a result, several suspects believed to be involved in a string of robbery incidents and related crimes have been apprehended and brought before the courts.

The suspects include individuals with previous convictions, highlighting the police’s focus on addressing repeat offenders. The police’s swift intervention prevented an attack on November 18, 2025, along the Berekum-Drobo road, and subsequent investigations led to the arrest of key suspects. During the operation, the police recovered various items, including firearms, military uniforms, and stolen goods.

The police are working tirelessly to track down other accomplices still at large and to recover additional evidence. The Bono Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to enhancing safety and security in the region and is urging citizens to provide any credible information that could aid in the ongoing investigations.

The courts have remanded some of the suspects, while others have been granted police inquiry bail as investigations continue. The police operation serves as a reminder of the importance of community cooperation in fighting crime and ensuring public safety.
