A controversy has emerged involving Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as Fire Oja, and Ola Maame, founder of Ola’s Herbal and Spiritual Center, also known as Soul Travel Ghana. Ola Maame has dragged Fire Oja before the Nae We Arbitration Court, situated in Gbese, Jamestown, over alleged defamatory remarks the pastor made against her and veteran musician Mzbel. This traditional dispute resolution body operates within the Ga traditional justice system, applying customary alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The crux of the matter lies in the series of public statements Fire Oja allegedly made, which Ola Maame perceives as an affront to her dignity and reputation. In response, Ola Maame, accompanied by her entourage, presented a formal petition to Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III, the Nae Wulomo and Highest Chief Priest, as well as custodian of Ga traditions, on January 8, 2026.
As the case unfolds, Ola Maame is seeking redress for the alleged harm caused to her reputation and personal integrity. The Nae We Traditional Court has scheduled a hearing for January 15, 2026, which is expected to draw significant public attention.
This case highlights the complexities of navigating traditional and modern justice systems in Ghana, particularly when it comes to issues of reputation and personal integrity.
