Ghana Armed Forces Helicopter Crashes in Adansi Akrofuom, 8 Feared Dead

A Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crashed in Adansi Akrofuom, Ashanti Region, today, August 6, 2025. The helicopter was traveling from Accra to Obuasi when it lost contact with radar and subsequently crashed, bursting into flames.

 

The incident has claimed the lives of at least 8 people, including Defence Minister Dr. Omane Boamah and Acting Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Mutuala Mohammed. The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the incident and dispatched emergency response teams to the scene.

 

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway, with authorities working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
